MICRONEEDLING WITH PRP
Dr. Ramaswamy and Dr. Saluja perform Skin needling, also called micro-needling to treat acne scaring, pigmentation and to rejuvenate the skin. Skin needling is a minimally-invasive therapy that involves repeated puncturing of the skin with tiny sterile needles. The depth of needle into the skin can be controlled depending on the condition treated. The punctures created by the needles stimulate collagen and other growth factors necessary for skin rejuvenation. Microneedling has minimal side effects and can be used safely in patients with patients with melasma and darker skin types.
We also perform Micro-needling with Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) treatments which is a therapy that utilizes a patient's own blood to stimulate growth of new collagen in the skin. Microneedling with PRP is often used for the treatment of genetic hair loss and acne scarring.
For stubborn acne and surgical scars subcision, a minor surgical procedure is used for treating depressed scars and wrinkles. This procedure is performed using a special hypodermic needle which is inserted through a puncture in the skin surface. The sharp edge of the needle is used to break fibrotic strands that are tethering the scar to the underlying tissue. The release of the fibrotic strands and new collagen deposition caused by wound healing leads to cosmetic improvement of the scar.
